Type of art — wood art mainly turned from salvaged wood
Background-
Born and raised in New Zealand, worked as a Maintenance Engineer, and did pictorial marquetry and pyrography before woodturning. Member of National Association of Woodturners, studied for a teaching qualification to teach woodturning and ran classes.
Moved to Leicester during pandemic new workshop now up and running. Member of Men in Sheds, Loughborough.
Work inspired by using salvaged material and looking at woodturning as a type of pottery with wood in a why not kind of way. Sometimes using paints, dyes, different finishes, and Japanese burning techniques.
